A Celebrity Among Us

P1020831

Did you know that Charlie is already famous in blogland? Okay , well maybe not entirely famous, but my friends Cody and Christa did feature him on their blog. You can check it out here. Don’t they look so much alike?!

The Best Day of the Year

I don’t know about you all, but the best day of the year at our house is the day the sprinklers get turned on… well, at least if you’re consulting Charlie about it.

Today I went home at lunch time and met the sprinkler guy. I left to go back to work with one really happy puppy sleeping in my family room. Not only does turning the sprinklers on mean that he’s able to get as wet as possible, but it also means that he got to follow the sprinkler guy around the yard as he did what needed to be done, he got to go downstairs into the basement and see what was happening down there, and he got to drink water directly out of the sprinkler head! To top it all off, his mom, who’s pretty awesome might I add, took him on a walk after everything was taken care off.

He’s the happiest guy in the world today. Here he is surveying his newly wet territory.

Time Out!

charlie-in-timeout

Charlie was being a beast yesterday and had to spend some of his day in timeout. Here he is waiting to be let back in with his people.

Sorry about the picture, I had to take it with my phone because my camera has endured a horrible death and can no longer be used. Yes, I am devastated and in the market for a new one. Let me know if you have any recommendations.

Truckin West…

So for my inaugural 2009 post, I thought about reflecting on the year, but then decided that a recap of my holiday road trip back from Michigan to Colorado would be more fun.

I know you are dieing to see the lovely scenery that Iowa, Nebraska and eastern Colorado offer, so I took some photos along the way to share.

Sapp Bros

Sapp Bros

Ever heard of Sapp Bros? Apparently they’re big around Highway 80.

Peru

Peru

Did you know that Peru is actually a town in Nebraska? We passed it along the way… lovely, isn’t it.

We were also lucky enough to encounter some great weather on our trip…

Iowa

Iowa

Here’s the view out of my car window driving through eastern Iowa. Great isn’t it. Looks like fog right? It’s actually a combination of fog and freezing rain. I’m probably driving at about 30mph on a few inches of ice at this point in time.

There were some good times on the trip, don’t get me wrong. Here’s Charlie trying to get closer to the front seat by squeezing himself between the door and the seat belt… as you can see he didn’t get very far.

Here he is in his preferred location. Close the the front, between his people :)

On the last day of our trip, we hit Colorful Colorado! We stopped in Keenesburg for brunch at Roosters, which provided some great photo opps.

Roosters

Yes, the name Roosters is not misleading. There are Roosters everywhere! I ended our stay by making Dan pose with one, which made the trip worth it.

Also, notice the sunshine in the photo above?! I’m pretty sure that was the first time we had seen the sun since we left Colorado in mid December!

The rest of the trip included a drive through Denver, some snow over Monument Hill…

Now it’s January and I have a blogging resolution to keep this up a bit more regularly in 2009. This gift from Melissa will surely help. Thanks Melis!

Happy New Year everyone!

Goodbye October, Hello November!

Did I tell you that Charlie got hurt and needed stitches a few weeks ago? He gets them out tomorrow (hopefully), but until then he is all bandaged up

Did you know that Halloween has come and gone and everyone (including me) is now thinking about Thanksgiving? Here is me on Halloween with my friend Amy’s son Jake. He was a skunk and it was the first time he had gone trick or treating! Dan is with his friend Joey’s son Logan, who was a very adorable dinosaur. We have friends who have kids… isn’t that weird!?

Can you tell that Jake has some candy in his hand?!

Also above you can see the brown color that I started to paint my dining room. We have now decided to go with green, so I will be painting away again next weekend.

Dan and I just got back from a weekend trip to Boulder, which is one of my favorite places! Dan’s friend Todd is on CU Boulder’s football operations staff and hooked us up with tickets to the game against Iowa State yesterday! We had a blast. It was fun tailgating and pretending we were college students again.

Here’s Todd leaving at the end of the game to go to the locker room.

Go Buffs!

Here is Dan and I watching the 4th quarter. It was a close one but the Buffs pulled it off and won 28 – 24!

All in all it has been a busy fun-filled few weeks. I hope your weekend is going well. Happy Sunday!
