So i had my first appointment at the Adult Allergic Diseases & Asthma office yesterday. After discussing my allergies with the doctor for about an hour, I had a multitude of tests done. The prick test consisted of me laying on my stomach for 40 minutes as they poked my back with different allergy proteins, and then waited to see my reactions. I was so popular, 3 different nurses came in the room and their exact reactions were ‘wow, you really are allergic to a lot’, or ‘wow, that hive is getting huge’. The test is graded as followed:Neg means that i was not allergic. 1+ is an equivocal reaction (doubtful significance), 2+ is a mild reaction (probably significant), 3+ is a moderate reaction (significant), and 4+ is a severe reaction (very significant). Here are a few of my results:
I also have nasal polyps, which are small, sac-like growths made up of inflamed tissue lining my nose. cool.
So you may be wondering what the treatment plan is. I was prescribed 5 different medicines to take daily. Zyrtec, Omnaris, Adviar, Albuterol, and 500 mg of Predisone(which i will only be on for 10 days when charlie and heide come for the holidays). Predisone is a steroid, that causes mood changes and weight gain. Therefor i will be crabby & fat on Christmas. Just thought i would put that out there. An epi pen for my cold urticaria syndrome. Oh, and Allergy Injections once to twice a week for the next 5 years.
All in all, i am the bubble child.
and no, this is not my back.
So, I’m pretty sure that no one actually reads this blog, but if they did and ventured into the comment section they might notice that a certain ‘G’ likes to post comments on a fairly regular basis.
This ‘G’ is an elusive fellow….
… only known by the often snarky comments that he posts on a regular basis.
Who is this mysterious ‘G’ might you ask?
Well, for one thing, he can dance with the best of them….
He can hold his own on the golf course….
He can often be pretty as a princess…
He likes to make funny faces….
He is our brother and we love him….
Here’s to you Greg

Did I tell you that Charlie got hurt and needed stitches a few weeks ago? He gets them out tomorrow (hopefully), but until then he is all bandaged up
Did you know that Halloween has come and gone and everyone (including me) is now thinking about Thanksgiving? Here is me on Halloween with my friend Amy’s son Jake. He was a skunk and it was the first time he had gone trick or treating! Dan is with his friend Joey’s son Logan, who was a very adorable dinosaur. We have friends who have kids… isn’t that weird!?
Also above you can see the brown color that I started to paint my dining room. We have now decided to go with green, so I will be painting away again next weekend.
Dan and I just got back from a weekend trip to Boulder, which is one of my favorite places! Dan’s friend Todd is on CU Boulder’s football operations staff and hooked us up with tickets to the game against Iowa State yesterday! We had a blast. It was fun tailgating and pretending we were college students again.
Here’s Todd leaving at the end of the game to go to the locker room.
Here is Dan and I watching the 4th quarter. It was a close one but the Buffs pulled it off and won 28 – 24!
All in all it has been a busy fun-filled few weeks. I hope your weekend is going well. Happy Sunday!

hiii! this is my roommates and I on the first night of halloween. I am a hippie (clearly). Calli is a strawberry. Abby is a queen (adam, her boyfriend was a king). and JP was tila tequilla. It was fun, defenitly not as exciting as all of your october festivities. I woke up at 7:45 this morning to tailgate. we had people over at our apartment before we went to the bar. It was fun. then i slept from 3-7. that was also fun.
i dont know these people. i found them on facebook randomly, but i thought you would appreciate it.

I had some IT issues yesterday, so this post is technically a day late but still relevant… Yesterday was a big day here in the Springs. My office had their annual contest again where we compete with skits. This year we created a David Letterman set and had Palin as a guest and had a funny top 10 list. It was a lot of work, so I am glad it is finally over! It is the first year that I have competed and not been on a winning team, but I’m okay with it.
We had a pretty good trick or treating turnout last night. We handed out peanut M&Ms and halloween themed pencils. I got a lot of flack up front for the pencil handouts, but they turned out to be a big hit!
I hope your Halloween was a good one. Fill me in later on how it all went.
